The Plant City Rotary Club is preparing for their 4th Annual Dancing with the Locals event scheduled for Friday evening, November 11th at the Red Rose Ballroom. The concept is just like the “Dancing with the Stars” television show. The difference is that our “locals” only have to learn one dance and compete one night. The couples selected by the Rotary Club pair up with area dance instructors, and the Rotary Club pays for 10 lessons for each couple. The Florida Strawberry Growers Association was founded in 1982. Local growers Tommy Brock, Carl Grooms, Bob Hinton, Johnnie St. Martin and Allen Williford are credited with founding the organization.
