The mighty Plant City Lancers under 17 Boys Premier team took home the championship at the 2013 Tampa Bay Sun Bowl. This was the 35th Anniversary of the National tournament. Garden Tour

The Plant City Garden Club will host a fall garden tour of 5 beautiful private gardens in the Plant City area on November 10, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. till 3:00 P.M.  The gardens range from suburban settings in Walden Lake to country settings off on Wilder Rd. Cost for the tour is $10.00 and can be purchased in advance or the day of the tour.  More...

With summer ending and school starting right around the corner, the Bruton Memorial Library is the place to be especially if you’re a teen! The new Computer Services Librarian Kerri Arbuthnot, who will be involved in teen programming and events, is excited about the upcoming fall programs for Teens at the library. “The programs will begin near the end of august and we have lots of fun activities lined up all the way through until December. Bruton Memorial Library – Computer Classes

Beginning this fall, The Burton Memorial Library will resume the computer classes for adults on September 5th at 11 am. Computer classes will be every Wednesday (except for holidays), from 11:00-12:00pm, no preregistration is required; however, the patron is encouraged to come in one hour early the day of the class to sign in so that they are assured a spot. It’s school time again, and that means it’s time for football! Registration is under way for the 46th season of the Plant City Recreation & Parks Department/Optimist Youth Flag Football Program. The P.C.R.P.D./Optimist Youth Flag Football Program is for all area boys and girls ages 4-15 (as of 11/1/2012) – birth certificate required. 2012 July 4th Celebration – Press Release – January 27, 2012

After a three year absence, the City of Plant City Recreation & Parks Department, the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Strawberry Festival are pleased to announce that the annual July 4th Celebration event is returning for 2012. First started in the summer of 2002, the event drew a standing room only crowd to Plant City Stadium for six years. Due to budgetary restraints and the economic downturn in 2008, the event had to be shelved and remained so for four years. More...
